Pathology club and Equine club would like to invite you to attend an upcoming wet lab next Friday, October 23rd!
A foal with cerebellar abiotrophy will have an neuro examination by Dr. Schott @ 12pm in the large animal hospital. Everyone should meet in the main hallway of the large animal hospital. All our welcome to attend this part of the event and no RSVP is required. (1st years this would be a great opportunity to test your newly acquired neuro exam skills!) At 5:30pm that evening Dr. Patterson will be conducting a necropsy on the foal at DCPAH. Only members of the Pathology Club and Equine Club will be allowed to participate in this portion of the event and the necropsy will be limited to the first 15 Pathology and Equine members who sign up.
NOTE: In order to participate in the necropsy portion of the event you must be trained at DCPAH. For those who have already completed this training previously there is no need to be trained a second time. For those that still need to be trained there will be one (or two, depending on need) available times to get this completed. Ideally everyone will be able to attend the floor training at 4pm next Friday right before the necropsy takes place. However, I do know that 2nd years have class until 5pm next friday so Dr. Patterson has agreed to offer an additional training time after the 2nd years’ last lecture next Thursday (October 22nd) which ends at 4pm. If you need to attend this training time just head over to DCPAH right after lecture. Before coming to the training session you need to complete the online training at www.orcbs.msu.edu:
Below is the survey to RSVP for the wetlab portion of the foal necropsy. This is open to only those who are members of either pathology and/or equine clubs. If you want to become a member of either club so that you can attend this wetlab, please indicate that on the survey RSVP.
Also, we're aiming to do only one Floor Training session at DCPAH for this wetlab, and that would occur on Friday October 23rd immediately before the necropsy (~5:00 pm), so please make this date if possible, and indicate that on the survey. For those of you who absolutely can't make that training, the other option is Thursday, October 22nd ~4:30 pm, so indicate that on the survey. Thanks!
